This is our third year as an Official Charity for Run for a Reason, and WOW, do we have many big running shoes to fill! 

In 2022, we won Chevron's $25,000 contest for raising the most money in a 10 day window, and we RAISED THE MOST MONEY out of all 60 charities! In 2023, we were in second place out of over 60 charities! 

We are so humbled and grateful for our team, our community, and our donors who helped us cross the finish line with flying colors! For 2024, we have our eyes set on getting back into first place, and we hope you will help us get there!

As we've learned in our motherhood experience, running isn't always easy and sometimes it is downright hard. But the rewards are great and the journey is beautiful, and most importantly- we can and will do it together!

Steel Magnolia Moms positively supports moms of children with special needs with a mission to promote health and happiness. We do this by hosting community socials to foster friendships, providing online support for regular contact and resource sharing and through our many programs.

Here's a quick look at the impact we have made so far in 2023 with the funds you help us raise:

- We supported 31 families and sent 27 kids to summer camp through Happy Camper(s) our scholarship fund that sends members’ children with special needs to summer camp

- We have committed to paying for 78 private therapy sessions through Head to Heart, a program that covers the cost for members needing mental health support with one of our licensed, local partnering psychologists

- We led 60 moms in a 6 week Caregiver Burnout program through Magnolia Wellness, which included a lunch and learn presentation with a professional therapist, private Sound Healing Medication Classes, a customized journal, and special offers with our community partners

- Awarded 5 Caregiver Burnout participants with a Magnolia Makeover, a head to toe, inside and out overhaul which included life coaching sessions, home organizing, closet edit, home maintenance and repair services, home painting and window washing, hair and makeup, manicure and pedicure, lash extensions, and eyebrow microdermabrasion.

- Held our annual Spring Fling for 80 moms and treated them to a fun night out

- We will host Moms Camp in the fall, providing 60 moms a chance to retreat for the weekend for respite and fun recharge

- With much more going on behind the scenes and in the pipeline!

85% of moms who have children with special needs say they have lost their sense of self. Steel Magnolia Moms encourages moms to take a break, have fun and connect outside of motherhood to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The programs and events listed above help us guide moms back to their authentic self.
