Did you know that childhood cancer is the leading cause of death in children in our country? And despite this stark fact, only 4% of our national cancer budget goes specifically for children with cancer. This is unacceptable.
When Faris was diagnosed at the age of 6, with a rare bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma, he told his family “cancer is not hard.” If a child can say that - then surely the cure can’t be hard. It requires conviction and a community coming together.
The Faris Foundation is led by its Chief Angel Officer, Faris D. Virani, whose words guide, inspire, and inform everything we do. Our mission is singular and bold: to bring brighter days and better treatments to children with cancer. Our key program areas are childhood cancer research, creative arts programs in children’s cancer centers, and public awareness and education around childhood cancer.

Fundraise for Registration (FFR)
Join our team and commit to raising a minimum of $250 for the 5K, $500 for the half, or $750 for the full marathon. The Faris Foundation covers your registration fee. This will secure a guaranteed entry in the 2026 We are Houston 5K (1/10/2026), Chevron Houston Marathon (1/11/2026) or the Aramco Half Marathon on (1/11/2026).
HERO Registration
Be a HERO by making a one-time tax-deductible donation of at least $350 plus the cost of registration (Marathon: $140 / Half Marathon: $125) to The Faris Foundation.
