The GRACE Foundation of New York is committed to support, educate, enhance and empower the quality of life for children/adults and their families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder.
We run for a cause, we run for GRACE. At The GRACE Foundation of New York, all of our participants are empowered every single day by the many programs and services that GRACE offers for all individuals living with autism spectrum disorder. Today 1 in 36 individuals are diagnosed with ASD. That number is astonishing and continues to grow. At GRACE, we treat our individuals with the dignity and pride they deserve. The GRACE Foundation was formed in 2000 by a group of parents with children just diagnosed with ASD. At that time, there were very limited resources and very limted places to turn for support. Theses incredible parents created a place called GRACE for their children and others to socialize, feel accepted and not be marginalized by their diagnosis.
Our diverse programs (including Site-Based Respite, Community Habilitation, In-Home Respite and Day Habilitiation) comprise of so many life-skill activites, job-readiness lessons and just plain fun and socialization for all those with all abilities. Not only does each one of our participants get to showcase their talents at fun events, they also get to go behind a camera or in front for their local web-series show. Innovation, creativity, acceptance, empowerment.! Leave the judgement at the door and each and everyone will soar!
The goals may be quite different than a person with ASD. A goal we take for granted, such as socializing, using our voice to speak, or using our body to communicate may be second nature for us, but for those with ASD, it can be a challenge to many. Let's be that voice for those communicates in various ways, let's be that person that lifts another one up. Take the journey with us and support our "RACE WITH GRACE journey" as we raise money for programs and services at GRACE.
