A MESSAGE FROM Teresa
Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. This year I have decided to run the Chicago Marathon as a charity runner with Cal's Angels.
As most of you know through knowing me, in May of 2021, my neighbors and friends, Erin and Jon Morris, received the devastating news that their (then) 6-year-old little girl Molly had stage 4 Kidney cancer. I dedicated my 2021 marathon to Molly and her fight and successfully completed 26.2 miles on October 10th, 2021.
Now, I am back again to run the Chicago Marathon 2022. Beyond all the life lessons their fight has taught me, one thing continues to be at the forefront of my mind, and that is the need for research and awareness of pediatric cancer. I have learned that 2 of the drugs Molly is receiving today are the same drugs that have been used for over 47 years. Vincristine has an FDA approval year date of 1963 And Doxorubicin- 1974. If scientists can find a vaccine for Covid so fast, there has got to be more that can be done for the treatment of pediatric cancer. This is why I have chosen Cal's Angels as my 2022 Chicago Marathon Charity. (Cal's Angels) – is a 501(c)(3) pediatric cancer foundation with a mission of granting wishes, raising awareness & funding research to help kids fighting cancer.
