A MESSAGE FROM Thiago Montu's Fundraising for Cancer Research (NFCR)
My Story:
Cancer is swift, intense, and leaves its mark not only on patients but also on their families. Unfortunately, my family has recently endured 2 cancer treatments. My mother Cynthia was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and despite surviving for over a year after the diagnosis, she passed away in Apr/22. On a more positive note, my sister Samantha successfully underwent surgery last May to remove a breast Thymoma and is now in good health, thanks to the grace of God.
The efficacy of their treatments was made possible by sharp diagnoses and the exceptional care provided by dedicated doctors, supported by years of cancer research. However, we are still far from finding a cure for this terrible disease that claims the lives of countless individuals.
My sister's surgery was particularly successful, partly due to her athletic condition as an endurance runner. In gratitude for her recovery, I made a promise to myself: I would complete a marathon this year as a way to express my gratitude for the successful treatment. And what better way to fulfill my commitment than by raising funds for cancer research during this marathon?
Join me in supporting cancer research as I strive to accomplish my goal. By contributing to this important cause, we can make a real impact in the lives of those affected by cancer, working towards improved treatments, higher survival rates, and ultimately, a cure. Together, we can make a difference.
