Team GoForGabs is back!  It’s 2021 race time!!  This year we are doing both  LIVE and VIRTUAL races so everyone can participate regardless of your vaccination status and your feeling about being in crowds.

GoForGabs was formed in 2013 with our first race in Hartford when our family and friends participated in the marathon and the kids’ fun run as part of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center team. Since then we have participated in several races and different events raising more than $55,000 for various groups in support of pediatric cancer research.

Now, 9 years later, our kids are older and none of us are running anymore marathons but we continue to raise money for CT Children’s and pediatric cancer research.  Cancer continues to impact our family in ways that we could never fully describe. GoForGabs is our way to honor our daughter Gabriella who continues to fight every day, our family and friends who have been by our side through each reoccurrence and treatment, and all families who have experienced having a child with cancer.  It is a forever changing experience and we pray for everyone battling this horrible disease.

We hope you will join the 2021 GoForGabs Team to run or walk at a location of your choice on Saturday, October 9.  We are hoping to all be together and walk in Hartford at the actual event but depending upon the COVID situation as that date gets closer, we may hold a repeat of our own 5k in our Wethersfield neighborhood. Wherever you chose to walk or run, please help us to raise money for CT Children’s and all the care and support they provide to their pediatric patients and their families.  As one of those families, we are so very thankful for all that their doctors and nurses do, especially during challenging times.
