What an honor and privilege to participate in this fundraising event on behalf of Avondale House, my students, parents, and the community.  Avondale House provides individuals with autism the resources, education, and training to develop to their fullest potential. Avondale House provides a variety of services, including a year-round school, adult day program, supported employment program, and family-oriented group homes. The students I serve come to school everyday ready to accept new challenges by doing their personal best.  As their teacher along with my team, and their parents we collaboratively raise their educational, social, and behavioral bar in effort to build upon their strengths daily. We are so proud of the progress that our students are making. They are truly superheroes because of their love and passion. Therefore, I have raised my own personal bar by embarking on my first marathon journey.
