A MESSAGE FROM Vaughn's run for LifeCamp
This Sunday, October 8th, I will be running my first-ever marathon in the Windy City. I'll be taking on this once-in-a-lifetime event as both as a personal challenge and as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for LifeCamp - an organization that has a special place in my heart.
LifeCamp serves families in Newark and helps kids build friendships, creativity, confidence, and independence. My first real job was to serve as a counselor at LifeCamp. That job was the start of a long and winding journey that has led me to my current position as Managing Partner at NVP - a job that has allowed me to realize new dreams, work with a stellar team, and make a difference for the causes and communities I care about.
As LifeCamp celebrates its centennial this week - I will be celebrating my own milestone at the Chicago finish line. I hope you will join me by supporting my run for LifeCamp, and - if you are in Chicago - coming out to cheer me on. While I cannot promise a record-breaking time, I do feel prepared and enthusiastic about my ability to complete the task ahead. Some hard things are worth doing, simply because they push you to realize the possibilities that lie ahead. The Chicago Marathon - and training for it - has done that for me and I’m looking forward to a strong race day, and a rewarding result f
or LifeCamp.
