A MESSAGE FROM Virjinia
At Friends For Life, every animal matters. Founded in 2002, Friends For Life introduced the no-kill shelter model to Houston – saving animals regardless of their breed, age or condition. Houston-grown, we’re here to help our neighbors care for the pets they love. We’re not finished until every animal has a safe home. Until then, we’ll be innovating, improving and tracking results to find the most effective ways to save lives.

My dog Snowflake is my best friend and I believe that every cat and dog should find their home and best friend too. I'll be running the Half Marathon in January and would love to raise awareness and help these animals. Since I can't take them all home with me, I'm fundraising to help these lovely pets find their forever home!

I'll specifically be running for my furry friend Gumbo who is a big fighter! Earlier this year, he dealt with a gunshot wound in his leg. However though lots of medical intervention, his leg has healed and he in running again! He may be a "big" dog but he's truly a softie. He's looking for a forever home and someone to share lots of love with!
