If you have made it to this page, you are someone who is important to me and my running journey. This year, I am running the Chicago Marathon in partnership with one of my favorite charities, CASA.
CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, empowers volunteers to advocate for children caught in the tangled web of the court and foster care systems. But it takes a lot of money to support even one child. By donating today, you become a crucial part of a child's journey to a safer, happier life. Your donation ensures that every child has a dedicated advocate to champion their needs and dreams. As a therapist, this cause is especially close to my heart, as I have seen firsthand how difficult it can be for children in the foster care system. Having a reliable and trustworthy adult who can advocate for a child's best interests in court can make all the difference in the world. I have also had family members volunteer with CASA over the years, and they have shared how much they enjoyed the experience and found it to have a positive impact in their own lives.
If you made it this far and still haven't donated to this important cause, I will appeal to our personal relationship. I have been building up to this goal of running a marathon for a few years now, but I haven't had the confidence to commit until now. With my amazing little sister, Hopie, moving to Chicago this year, it feels like the stars have aligned. If you have ever heard me talk about running or talk about Hopie, you can imagine how important this race will be for me. However, I can't do it without fundraising support.
