A MESSAGE FROM NCJWLA: Zoe Marie Bel versus 26.2 miles
I'm running the LA Marathon for the third time ever to raise cash money for an organization so close to my heart it's practically my aortic valve. (Look it up.)
I'm talking about the NCJW LA, the National Council of Jewish Women in LA. Here's the official word on what they do:
"NCJW|LA ensures economic justice and equity for women in Los Angeles through direct cash assistance, skill building, and advocating for policies that safeguard women's financial stability and prosperity."
That nails it, but I want to throw in: "and then some." I couldn't be prouder to fling myself around Los Angeles for 26.2 miles in celebration of the community-building, the barrier-busting, and the straight-up joy the NCJWLA brings to the city. Like all forces for good, they rely on donations to keep up the can-do. I know these are rough times, with basic groceries somehow cratering paychecks and relentless price hikes draining vampirically on what's left. But anything at all you give makes a difference, and will advance the Council in its mission to help women of all backgrounds, faiths, ages and ethnicities rise into their true and full potential. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
