A MESSAGE FROM Christine’s Marathon Fundraising Page
Hi! I'm Christine Wolf, and this will be my 6th time participating in the Chicago Marathon! I can't believe it!
My first attempt was in 2002 while pregnant with my third child. I didn't end up finishing, but I raised $2,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
My second race -- and the first time I crossed the finish line -- was 17 years later, in 2019. I raised $3500 for the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation.
My third race was in 2020, and, due to the pandemic and the cancellation of that year's marathon, I designed my own 26.2-mile course near my home. I helped to raise $10,000 for the YWCA Evanston/Northshore, working to eliminate racism and empower women.
My fourth race was in 2021, and I raised more than $5000 for the American Cancer Society.
This year, while training, I'm fundraising to benefit Open Heart Magic again. The funds raised by our Open Heart Magic Charity Team will benefit OHM’s unique programming to help sick kids get their magic back.
Our hard work will support certified Hospital Magician volunteers and the OHM organization to reach kids at their hospital bedsides right when they need it the most. Your support will impact thousands of children and their families – together we can help sick kids get their magic back.
Thank you for supporting my latest effort to complete the Chicago Marathon. I'm excited about all the good we can accomplish TOGETHER.
Sincerely,
Christine Wolf

I had to drop out of training for my fifth race in 2022 after a triple whammy -- Covid, the flu, and some unknown virus -- wreaked quite a bit of havoc on my health, but I raised $2100 for Open Heart Magic, a remarkable non-profit that trains volunteers to perform magic tricks for hospitalized kids.
After a long, frustrating period of rest and recuperation, I'm squeezing back into my training clothes (it's not pretty, lemme tell ya) and training for my sixth attempt at the Chicago Marathon. As I create this fundraising page, I've walked on a treadmill exactly three times, each one covering a very slooooooow five miles.
