A MESSAGE FROM Jack's NYC Marathon LTWF Fundraising Page
On the November 7th I will be running the NYC Marathon in support Lead The Way Fund on Team Army Ranger. For those not familiar with it, Lead the Way Fund is a locally based non-profit that was set up in the honor of Sgt. James “Jimmy” Regan. Jimmy grew up in Manhasset, and after graduating from Chaminade went on to play lacrosse at Duke University. Foregoing job offers and law school, Jimmy decided to enlist in the Army in February 2004, and sadly was killed 3 years later on February 9th in Northern Iraq.
Army Ranger Lead The Way Fund, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit, is an active duty, casualty assistance, recovery, transition and Veterans organization that provides financial support, beyond what the government and veterans affairs can offer, to U.S. Army Rangers and the families of those who have died, have been disabled or who are currently serving in harm’s way around the world.
During the government shutdown in 2013, funding to families of recent KIAs were lost as part of federal spending cuts. LTWF stepped up and used their funds to finance families who otherwise would have not gotten any of the money they were entitled to.
Between my family's history of service to this nation, friends who still serve, and the common bond with Jimmy through Chaminade, I have always felt a strong connection to this foundation and am honored to be representing them.
I hope you will consider donating to support not only my fundraising, but this outstanding foundation; no donation is too small.
Thank you for your time and consideration-
Be The Best,
Jack
