According to the CDC, the prevalence of autism has increased to 1 in 36 children being diagnosed, making it the fastest growing developmental disorder in our country. Critical research is needed to tackle this complex neurological and developmental condition.
Our 5-year-old son Landen was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 22 months old. Our little boy is a non-verbal, autistic child who has difficulty with sensory processing, overstimulation, sleep, socialization, and cognition. He is also funny, brave, loving, sweet, energetic and the happiest little boy I know.
We are committed to getting our son the help he needs to be as successful in life as possible. In trying to help Landen we also support the search for answers. On May 18th, 2024, for the 5th year in a row, we will join the entire Philadelphia Eagles organization and thousands of others from the community in participating in the Eagles Autism Challenge.
This event is committed to funding autism research and programs with the goal of advancing scientific breakthroughs. 100% of participant-raised funds will go directly towards the Eagles Autism Foundation. Landen has been involved in ABA therapy for almost 4 years and has greatly improved developmentally, socially and cognitively. With help from donations, the Eagles Autism Foundation has been able to provide programs such as the one Landen attends, with grants, and support. This is monumental in the treatment of children with autism and other neuro-developmental conditions.
Together we can take action for autism so I hope you will consider sharing our story and/or making a donation towards our fundraising goal to help provide a bright future for our little boy, and help to transform the lives of all those affected by autism today and tomorrow.
If anything, we are committed to educating other's and bringing awareness. One of our biggest struggles is not always the disorder itself, but trying to educate and help other's understand and accept Autism Spectrum Disorder.
